WestEast welcomes back Chris Scott, PMP, as our new Business Development leader. After a brief stint with WestEast in 2013, Chris returned to work with his father’s Firm, J.M. Waller Associates (which was later acquired by Versar) where he stayed until May of 2015.

Like many San Antonians, Chris grew up as a part of a military family and has lived in many different locales while his father served in the United States Air Force.  He and his family have been back in the area since 1992 so he definitely considers it home.

Although Chris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and his Master’s in Biochemistry, he has decided over the years that his true calling is business development. With his outgoing personality and history in AEC industry, he is the perfect fit here at WestEast and is already on his way to helping us to expand our reach, particularly in the Federal sphere.

When asked why he chose to work with an Architecture firm, Chris explains that Architects think very differently than he does and he enjoys collaborating with creative people. Chris notes that one of the challenges of his job is that Architects often fight structure and processes.  He explains that corralling architects can be like herding cats, especially for meetings. Overcoming these challenges takes patience but Chris believes in showing architects that a repeatable process is a necessary and valuable step to managing not only the architectural design of a project but for developing new business opportunities.

We are very happy to add Chris back into our team.  He has already joined our soccer team, played for us in Golf tournaments and listened to his bellowing laugh ring throughout the office.  Hopefully, we will get a chance to sample some of his secret talent of being an accomplished Thai Chef.  Bring on the Pad Eee EW!
