Katherine swing dancing steals spotlight!


WestEast Design Group's General Manager, Katherine Kimm recently participated in the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund, "Renaissance with the Stars" Dance Competition on Saturday, August 18. Katherine showed off her swing dancing moves and stole the spotlight on stage to support the fund's serving nonprofit organizations. After months of hard work and late-night practices, her performance earned top marks in the competition and secured her third place in the final standings! See her spectacular swing dance performance below and thank you for supporting the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund!

WestEast Annual Summer BBQ

On June 8th WestEast Design held its annual company BBQ. We were especially grateful to several of our staff members - Roland, Michael, Lan, Karla, Gonzalo, Ed, Art, Aaron, and Rueben - who helped out with the food prep and planning. It was a wonderful afternoon of food, friends, and soccer!

WestEast Sponsors 10th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament for St. Philip's College

WestEast was proud to sponsor St. Philip's 10th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on March 2, 2018 held at The Republic Golf Course. The Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament is an event to raise scholarship funds to help support the needs of students at St. Philip's College seeking degrees and certifications from more than 100 career options. 

The funds raised at the golf tournament provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge and learn skills that will service the economic health of San Antonio. The scholarship fund helps pay tuition and books for students seeking a certificate or degree at St. Philip's College.


WestEast Adds Engineering Team to its Practice

WestEast has added an engineering department to its architecture practice. Three professional engineers, Ed Garcia, Curt Van De Walle (not pictured) and Michael Miller, have joined the firm along with two engineering designers, Reuben Gonzales and Samuel Bishop, and project manager Alex Peña.

DSO Construction Begins

Austin Central Library Opens

The new Austin Central Library opened its doors on Oct. 28. WestEast interior design Karla Dodson, RID, was in charge of preparing the furnishings package for the interior of this six-story, 198,000-square-foot building. The playful, colorful furniture and fixtures complement the airy, light-filled feeling of the library, designed by Lake | Flato with Shepley Bulfinch. Karla, pictured here, captured some good shots of the building at the packed opening.

WestEast at Fort Huachuca, Arizona

WestEast architects Aaron Hanley and Melanie Bartholomew recently made a site visit to Fort Huachuca, AZ, for the Medical Facility Pre-Planning Study | Master Plan project being conducted with the Innova Group. In addition to evaluating progress, they met with staff and leadership of the Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center, an aging facility that is scheduled to be replaced in the next few years. In the meantime, this plan will detail the required moves and updates to keep the departments operational until then.
