The history and philosophy of WestEast Design Group

OVER 20 Years of Building Trust

WestEast Design Group started on Christopher Kimm’s dining room table in 1996. Already an experienced architect with a national firm, Chris was inspired to build his own business in San Antonio. His first project was the St. Mary's Learning and Leadership Center for the City of San Antonio. Because of that project's success, the City then chose WestEast to design the much larger 12,000-square-foot Col. Victor Ferrari Community Education Center. Chris and his wife, Katherine, have since built their business into a thriving firm of 30 talented architects, designers, engineers and support staff.

Selecting a small firm was considered a risky choice; however, WestEast Design Group has demonstrated dedication and skill during the completion of this effort, and capabilities beyond what is typically seen from a smaller company.

Over the years, WestEast has created successful relationships by truly listening to our clients’ needs and goals. That’s how we deliver high-quality solutions to complex technical and design issues while staying within budget and on schedule on countless projects. In fact, 80% of our projects are from repeat clients.

As a small minority business enterprise (S/MBE), we have built our reputation on quality and impeccable project management. A multidisciplinary team manages every project from inception through completion. And we encourage the whole team to participate throughout the process, lending their unique design talent and technical expertise to the work.
