No items found.

The Project

The community center is a resource for people to take GED and ESL classes and for parents looking for early literacy training, financial literacy for children and computer classes.

The Methodology

Both the exterior and interior were carefully designed for easy construction methods to achieve cost savings while maintaining the unique form of the building. The problem of distinguishing two distinct functions in the same building was accomplished by a hallway dividing the building with clerestory windows, creating a light well identifying the separation of functions.

The Result

Community teaching center and daycare facility for the City of San Antonio, and Districts 8, 9, and 10.
