Bexar County engaged WestEast Design Group to consolidate all of the Election Department’s storage, archiving, and office functions under one roof. An existing warehouse was assessed and renovated to meet these needs.
The project involved designing a modern, police station integrating sustainable elements and functional spaces to meet evolving departmental needs while adhering to Texas Police Chief’s Association standards.

In trying to achieve the most economic solution for the existing building, the project reused the complete existing foundation and half of the superstructure. A new mezzanine was created to gain additional square footage to meet the storage needs of the Elections Department.
WestEast consolidated administrative, public service, materials service, and processing functions to one building, eliminating the cost of renting a satellite storage facility.
