The Project

WestEast Design Group was responsible for the master planning, design, and construction administration of a new residence hall for West Texas A&M University. The project included a 360-bed residence hall organized into RA-led communities, along with a conference center, residence life department offices, laundry facilities, and multipurpose spaces. The masterplan ensured the residence hall was well-integrated with nearby academic buildings, a student activity center, and a dining complex.

The Methodology

The design also involved additional analysis and work on the central chiller system, utility tunnel extension, and facility program, all completed within the original project budget. WestEast's success with Phase I led to them being awarded Phase II, which provided additional beds, lounge spaces, and similar RA-led community structures. Their thoughtful approach ensured the project met both the functional and community-building needs of the campus.

The Result

The successful completion of Phases I and II improved campus connectivity, creating open spaces and efficient walking routes throughout the residential complex and beyond. The project enhanced the student living experience, and WestEast's strong relationship with West Texas A&M University positions them for continued involvement in future phases of residential hall development.
